It truly seems like Adele is the most unstoppable force in music right now . While the singer may be enjoying some time away from the spotlight as a new mother, she continues to break records and set chart history as it has just been announced by the UK charts company that Adele’s classic, Someone Like You is the most downloaded single in UK history as the country reached a 0ne million downloads milestone on 8 April.
The sales landmark was reached nine years after legal digital downloads were introduced to music charts in the UK and it was revealed that it would take a staggering total of 6,659 years to listen to all billion single downloads back to back, based on average track length of three minutes and thirty seconds.
Interestingly enough it was also said that the music industry now sees records of more than three million downloads a week, while 188.6 million tracks were downloaded in 2012 alone.
Official charts company managing director Martin Talbot said in a statement:

He then went on to say:
Over the nine years of legitimate digital music, more than 16 new tracks have sold one million copies, which emphasises just how popular digital music is in the modern age.
