Mitch Winehouse has spoken to The Sun suggesting that fans of the late Amy Winehouse have been coming up with names in the hopes that a north London street would be named after her.

The residents of Kings Cross, which isn’t too far from where Amy grew up in Camden have been selecting names for a housing development in the area.

To think that our surname would be indelibly linked with London through the naming of a street after Amy is remarkable.

We’re a London family through and through and it would be a tremendous honour if we do become a literal part of the fabric of this great city.

According to Mitch, ‘Winehouse Street’ has been submitted as a possible name for the street.

Charles Dickens and Mary Shelley – the author of Frankenstein – have also been rumoured to be paid homage in similar ways.

Amy has left an undeniable legacy, but considering her life and the way she died, is she deserving of a street being named after her? Let us know what you think in the comments.
