The first Afrobeats musical to be staged in London’s West End will be premiering this month.

Oliva Tweest, based on the popular song by Afrobeats artist D’Banj is set in modern day London, follows young promiscuous man Tobi who finally finds the girl of his dreams – but trouble strikes when his frivolous past come back to haunt him.


Starring A Dot Comedian and Aunty Funke from Meet The Adebanjos, the musical features covers of well known Afrobeats songs, a guest performance from Mista Silva and cameos from familiar faces.


The musical, put together by creative arts company The Marimba Project will be showcasing at the Lyric Theatre from 15 April. Tickets for the event are currently on sale.
