Following the dispute over the correct version of Wiley’s latest album, The Ascent, being sent to  iTunes, Wiley has stated that he plans to leave record label Warner.

His main issue seemed to be the commercialised direction the record label were trying to push the grime MC into:


He then stated in since deleted tweets that he would be leaving the record label, tweeting:

I am walking out of Warner today, I don’t need em anymore. Rinsed majors for every penny, enough is enough.

He also added that he will not star in the video for his next single:

My label are doing Lights On next but I do not like that so you will not see me in the video.

I guess it’s good for Wiley that he’s sticking to his guns by not wanting to go too far down the commercial route.
