The 21-year-old woman who was charged with the random acid attack on Victoria Secrets’ worker Naomi Oni is due to stand trial for a court date in September.
Mary Konye, who was a former schoolmate of 21-year-old Naomi, stands trial for the charges of throwing or casting a corrosive fluid with intent to burn, maim, disfigure, disable or do grievous bodily harm.
Naomi was attacked in December last year when a woman wearing a niqab threw acid over her as she walked home from work in Dagenham. Naomi has since undergone a number of surgical procedures to restore the disfigurement following the attack.
Naomi and Mary both attended St Angela’s Ursuline Covent School in Forest Gate as teenagers.
