Since 2004, Hip Hop Theatre festival Breakin’ Convention has done exactly what it says on the tin.

Taking full run of the world renowned dance venue Sadler’s Wells, some of today’s best graffiti artists get to work on the walls, whilst the kitchen serves up jerk chicken and the audience pile in to witness the most exciting dance companies of our time take to the stage.

Each and every year Breakin’ Convention has exceeded expectations, and on the first day of this year’s 10th anniversary special, one performance in particular managed to stir up the audience.

Emerging from the back of the stage, an eerie ensemble of shirtless men wearing gas masks proceeded to contort their bodies in an intense piece entitled Bonebreak-king.

Hailing from Brooklyn, NextLevelSquad have toured with Madonna combining their double-jointed abilities with isolation dance techniques.
