Friend of Stephen Lawrence, Duwayne Brooks, has had his say on the recent revelation that police used undercover investigators to try and find dirt on the family and friends of the murdered teenager.

It came out that the police sent in undercover police to infiltrate anti-racist protest groups in the hopes to find negative information on those around Stephen Lawrence. Peter Francis, the officer who revealed the story to the Guardian and Channel 4, noted that the police were hoping to prevent any Rodney King style riots through their investigations.

Duwayne, who was with Stephen when he got murdered, tweeted a simple message expressing his thoughts on the authorities’ underhand approach to the racially aggravated murder:

That’s a pretty positive response to some dirty police work… I can’t say I’d be that calm about finding something like this out!
