It’s always an exciting time when the largest African fashion event in Britain comes around, but this year it is set to be bigger and better than it’s ever been as it returns to London for the third time.

You will remember that last year, we were all over Africa Fashion Week London. Like, all over it. I mean, really – really. We didn’t stop. Trust me!

The event, which is sponsored by New African Woman Magazine this year, is the African alternative to London Fashion Week  and will showcase a large mixture of young, talented designers and models.

Africa Fashion Week London, has the sole purpose of bringing exposure to the work of African and African-inspired designers in the UK and worldwide.

The event will take place in London’s Shoreditch at the Old Truman Brewery between 1-3 August and is set to see 100 designers on the runway and over 100 exhibitors showing their work.

Patron of the event Princess Fifi Ejindu said,

I believe Africa Fashion Week London is a great platform for African talent and a great opportunity for Africa to showcase the talent that we possess. The era of the hungry African child is long over and it is now time for our culture to be recognised globally.

Tickets for Africa Fashion Week London 2013 are now on sale.
