Talking to 1Xtra’s Nick Bright on the Breakfast Show, Ashley Walters hinted that he may not be able to fulfil all the upcoming commitments in terms of the So Solid crew comeback.
When mentioning the comeback so far he said:
It’s been good. To be honest I’ve only been involved in one gig… It’s kind of the grand closing.
So Solid as a group doesn’t exist any more; it’s more like a business… This is us saying farewell.
He then insinuated that with the second series of Top Boy underway, he may not be able to take part in anything So Solid related:
How involved with that will I be? I can never say because of work commitments and time.
I think it’s [the reunion] a good thing. There was a time no one wanted to hear So Solid.
It’s all come back around. It’s come full circle.
He also stated that it’d be unlikely that there would be any new material from the garage collective adding, “It can’t be beaten. Leave it where it is.”
So Solid Crew are due to perform at this year’s Lovebox festival on Saturday and have upcoming gigs at the O2 this autumn. The real question is, will Ashley be there for any of the shows?
