Earlier today, it was released that the government may go ahead with plans to let teenage girls be spared from a prison sentence for serious crimes and sent to training centres to cut costs.

I don’t think this is the best idea to be honest, so I want to take a trip down Pappzd’s memory lane and look at some of the most outrageous crimes by girls that we’ve reported.

Maybe after we’ve had a little look through, it’ll become more obvious why the government’s scheme to not send girls to jail is a bad idea.

5. Yasmine, 20 and Whitney Notice,19

Yasmine and Whitney Notice were sent to jail in November 2012 for sexually assaulting a mentally disabled man a gunpoint, filming it, then bragging and sending the footage to friends over BBM. In this case Yasmine would probably not be spared but 19-year-old sister Whitney (left) would, despite being equally guilty of this terrible crime.

4. Cherelle McKenzie-Johnson, 14

Cherelle McKenzie-Johnson

Cherelle was jailed for eight years in April for the manslaughter of 15-year-old Junior Nkwelle. After getting into an argument with Junior, McKenzie-Johnson convinced her boyfriend to stab the victim for “disrespecting” her and even went back to her house to equip her 17-year-old boyfriend with the knife to do it.

3.  Lorraine Mbulawa, 18

Lorraine M

In 2011, 18-year-old Lorraine walked free from court after she was charged with the attempted murder of her mother. Her own mum! The Zimbabwe-born teen who lived in Leicester stabbed her mother five times, but managed to convince the court that she was possessed by her grandmother’s ghost which made her commit the crime – obviously.

2. Victoria Osoteku, 20

Victoria Osoteku

Victoria was 18 when she orchestrated the fatal stabbing of 15-year-old Sofyen Belamouadden at Victoria Station in 2010. Victoria used the medium of Facebook to instigate the fight between two rival schools; the same fight that resulted in Sofyen’s killing. She also bought the knives that were used against the victim, was present at the fight and was seen on CCTV kicking him after the altercation as he lay dying. She was jailed for 12 years early last year.

1. Samantha Johnson, 15

Samantha’s crime was televised in BBC Three’s drama based on the real life murder of Shakilus Townsend. Samantha “honeytrapped” 16-year-old Shakilus in 2009, setting up her 17-year-old boyfriend and his friends to attack and stab the south Londoner. She was jailed for a minimum of 10 years for her involvement in the crime.

Hmm, I don’t think jail was too harsh a sentence for any of these criminals!
