Complete with tatted-up guys in white vests, mandem on the wall and expensive chains everywhere, Frisco has just released a video for his track Are You?, featuring the artist formerly known as Chipmunk.
The video is quite different to the clips that have been released from Chip over the past few years. His collaborations with artists such as Chris Brown, Keri Hilson and Trey Songz have led to the young star’s videos being more polished and americanised.
But that didn’t stop Chip, who apparently is produce of the endz, according to his t-shirt anyway, returning to his roots as he provided the chorus to Frisco’s highly anticipated track.
The video was filmed in Tottenham, where Chipmunk and Frisco both grew up and features cameos from Wretch 32, producer Wizzy Wow and pretty much the whole of north London. In fact all the video was missing was Miley Cyrus twerking in her underwear.
With an impeccable flow Frisco rapped about his past, the police and made reference to Mark Duggan who was tragically shot by the police and also lived in Tottenham.
Are You? was shot by Andre Crawford and Marc ‘Bravo’ Andrisani, who has created videos for K Koke.
The chorus paid homage to an old school garage track, Are You Really From The Da Endz by Dynamic M and Amina. And Chip proved that he’s on his way to becoming the UK’s answer to Drake by showing off his vocals.
And it wouldn’t be a hood video without a bottle of Ciroc, 7up and some fruit shoot for the kids.
