Friends of the teen killed on holiday in Malia, have spoken out against members of the media who have labeled Tyrell Matthews-Burton a gang member.

The Daily Mail and The Guardian both reported that Police on the holiday Island have attributed the murder to ‘gang violence imported from the streets of London’. But the 19-year-old’s friends have been quick to defend the tragic teen describing him as a beautiful young man.

Journalists from The Mirror and The BBC contacted a close friend of Tyrells, Kalm Paul-Christian, seeking a story and some information, but were told that speaking to the media was not a priority.

A source close to the family told Pappzd that friends of Tyrell’s have been asked not to speak to members of the media who have tarnished his name, out of respect to his mother.

A Twitter user reached out to The Mirror, The Guardian and Mail online asking them to get their facts right as their lies were hurting the murdered teen’s family.

Tyrell’s friend’s have set up a campaign to help raise funds for the funeral.
