The vInspired Live event took place at the Roundhouse in Camden on Saturday, an one-off musical show in support of the vInspired charity which helps youth to gain self-confidence.
Skepta was the first to perform, wearing an 80’s throwback inspired outfit in an all white get-up and round sunglasses, he performed tracks from his latest mixtape Blacklisted.
One of the tracks he performed was his raw song, Ace Hood Flow. Skepta also surprised fans by bringing surprise guest G FrSH to the stage to deliver their collaborative song, The Man.
A*M*E was the next artist on, and she brought her energetic vibe and crazy Lady Gaga-like outfit to the stage. Quirky A*M*E soon abandoned her dancers to turn up vInspired in full force to perform her chart topping single Need U (100%).
As it came to the end of the show, it became clear who the majority of the crowd were really waiting for when a stampede of girls made a dash to the front of the stage to see headline act Professor Green approach the stage. He begun with a rendition of his hit track Read All About It following with performances of his other popular songs.
We got the chance to interview A*M*E who was evidently excited about performing for vInspired and being able to inspire others:
I did vInspired last year and no one knew who I was. And this year people know where I am in the charts, and it’s nice to know people can kind of say they can look up to me.
I feel if people follow my journey, they can see I work hard and hopefully they can bounce off that and think “if she can do that so can I”.
When asked how the work for her debut album was coming along, she told us that she was working with the writer of Beyonce’s If I Were A Boy for her upcoming record.
Her latest single Heartless will be released on 14 July.
