Pappzd were invited to the GUBA Awards press launch at the House of Commons yesterday to find out which Ghanaians would be up for an award. The GUBA Awards is a platform for showcasing exceptional achievement, talent and ability in the British Ghanaian community and, also, of valuable services provided to Ghanaians in the UK and Ghana. After five glasses of wine and some lovely canapés, we listened to ITV newsreader Charlene White give a speech about the importance of the ceremony, followed by Diane Abbot who is a proud supporter of GUBA. Held in the House of Commons, (you’re jealous, I know), celebs such as Eddie Kadi, Clement Marfo and Nancy Dell’ Ollio were all in attendance. The launch was an exciting prelude to the GUBA awards which takes place on November 16 at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel. And if you haven’t started planning your outfit yet, then you better start looking! Voting begins on Monday 9th September and votes can be cast on the GUBA Awards website. Check out some more pictures from the night below.
