The Independent released their Pink List on Sunday. A list of 101 gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people that make a difference.
And guess who was number 57? Only our Jessie J. The Do it Like a Dude singer confirmed she was bisexual in a 2011 interview saying:
I’ve never denied it. Whoopie doo guys, yes, I’ve dated girls and I’ve dated boys – get over it
Last year an unauthorised biography, written by Chloe Govan, claimed that Jessie was lying about being bisexual and only said she was to look cool. It also said Jessie told everyone she was bi because she was scared of losing her record deal with Universal. Govan said:
Jessie might have been with boys in the past – but she is 100 per cent gay. Jessie was openly lesbian and didn’t hide it. She was advised not to come out, though. Certain people thought being bi was trendy, exotic and a fashion statement. It would increase her allure.
Other notable people in the list are Nicola Adams, a British boxer, and Gold Medal winner at the 2012 Summer Olympics. And illusionist Derren Brown also made the list (totally forgot he was gay) at number 67.
