As part of Radio One’s Teen Hero Awards, Tinie Tempah surprised a south London schoolboy when he interrupted his assembly speech to hand him an award.

14-year-old Jeremiah Emmanuel, who attends Archbishop Tennison School in Oval, was giving an assembly presentation on how to deal with gang violence when he was cut short by the Trampoline star.

Little Jeremiah only managed to say “good morning” to his fellow students when the rapper turned up to invite him to the Teen Hero Awards, taking place on 3 November, to be recognised for his work against gangs.

With the surprise meeting being broadcast on Nick Grimshaw’s Breakfast Show, Jeremiah told of how he lost all composure when he saw Tinie:

I am still in shock. I had no idea at all. I saw Tinie run up to the stage. I had a straight face but I didn’t feel calm. Then I had to carry on and finish the assembly.

Lucky guy.

I never had any cool famous people turn up at my school assemblies. The closest we ever got to a celebrity was a failed Eastenders actor.
