Chip arrived Lagos for his first ever visit this morning in preparation for his performance at Ice Prince’s Fire Of Zamani concert.
The London Boy features on the Nigerian artist’s album Fire Of Zamani with the collaborative track Mercy, and will be taking to the stage at Eko Hotel & Suites on 23 November.
He will be on the same line-up as fellow Nigeria first-timer Wale as well as resident musicians Modenine, Olamide, Phyno andof course Ice Prince himself.
Chip showed his excitement, posting the flyer for the concert on Instagram along with the caption:
Off to Nigeria to support my g @iceprincezamani on his album launch!!! First time in Nigeria… Should be fun :) Wale flying out for it too. “I get girls in all types of flavors… One from Kingston… One from LAAAGOS!” #Mercy ☺ Big up all the African and Afrobeats community… I fuxx wiyu!!! Music is the language of The world. ✈ #LondonBoy off to Lagos. Cc @monstacam @bossbaff @f1john let’s GO!!!
He wasn’t welcomed by the biggest of crowds, but shortly after arriving in the country with BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Edu, the 22-year-old told reporters:
Loving Lagos already. It’s gonna be fun, I’m loving the culture shock already.
Love at first sight!
Maybe Chip will have also gained a few more Nigerian fans to send him off on his journey back.
