The crowd was full of durag wearing and “I saved this outfit from the 90’s” fans  who jumped up and down to both old and new songs from the rappers.

method man superstars-of-hip-hop-at-hammersmith-apollo25Red and Mef were the first main acts to perform, rapping tracks such as A-Yo and Da Rockwilder. They took us back to 1994, when Wu Tang Clan were at their peak, performing M.E.T.H.O.D. Man.

red man superstars-of-hip-hop-at-hammersmith-apollo23And as if we don’t get rained on enough in London, Redman thought it would be funny to spray the crowd with water every time he felt like it.

busta rhymes superstars-of-hip-hop-at-hammersmith-apollo45Their performance was followed by a quick DJ set from 1Xtra’s Ace, before the man we’d all been waiting for walked onto the stage like a champ.
