So Solid Crew were set to end their comeback tour with a bang which included a huge arena performance at London’s O2 arena supported by some of the best urban acts that the UK have to offer (not including Chip).
However, that dream seems to have been crushed as with six days to go until their show at the venue which has a capacity of 20,000, it has been moved to the less glamorous and much smaller venue of the Indigo2, which holds nearly 2,500 people.
The O2 tweeted the news on their official Twitter account:
— The O2 (@TheO2) November 8, 2013
And issued an official statement:
Due to changes in the tour schedule, So Solid Crew has relocated their event to take place at indigO2, part of The O2. Customers should still make their way to The O2 by North Greenwich tube station on Thursday 14 November and follow signs for indigO2. All tickets remain valid and all event details remain the same. Customers who have purchased VIP packages will be accommodated accordingly. If you have any queries about your existing booking, please contact point of purchase where a customer service representative will be able to assist.
They didn’t give much of an explanation, except for putting the venue change down to “changes in the tour schedule”. Whatever that means
(low ticket sales).
And just to reassure ticketholders that they weren’t missing out, they made sure to stress that the Indigo2 is still part of the O2. It’s in the same building, it’s practically the same thing, guys!
Megaman didn’t hold back on his disappointment though, with a few sarcastic tweets:
That’s a shame.
So Solid’s farewell tour begins on Wednesday 13 November in Manchester and ends in Birmingham on 19 November.
