Michael Adebolajo, 28 and Michael Adebowale, 22, are due to appear at the Old Bailey today on suspicion of murdering soldier Lee Rigby as he returned to his Woolwich barracks in May this year.

They also stand the charges of attempting to murder a police officer on the same day, and attempting to murder a police officer on or before that day, as subsequent reports emerged suggesting that the two men planned the attack for a number of weeks.

25-year-old Lee Rigby died as a result of multiple stabs and cut wounds after being attacked on his way back to his barracks.

The two men have plead not guilty to all charges with Adebolajo requesting to be addressed as Mujaahid Abu Hamza and Adebowale as Ismail Ibn Abdullah.
