A 26-year-old man has been arrested after two police officers were shot at in Camberwell earlier today.

The unarmed police officers were investigating a burglary in Knatchbull Road at around midday today and were sitting in the front seats of the patrol vehicle.

The officers escaped with no injuries and Scotland Yard said that the suspects were a black man in his 20s wearing a blue puffa jacket and blue jeans, as well as a white man in his 20s wearing a parka.

This afternoon the suspect was arrested on suspicion of firearm offences and is currently being held in custody at a south London police station. Police are still looking for the suspect who shot at the officers.

It is not known whether either of the suspects were connected to the burglary.
