Lerone Michael Boye, 27, who murdered 17-year-old Kelvin Chibueze, has been found after escaping from the mental institution he was being held at three months ago.
Boye was part of a gang that attacked and killed Kelvin in 2011 as he attended a party at an east London venue. Boye was convicted of the crime in 2011 and sentenced to 28 at the John Howard Centre in London.
Boye absconded from the facility on 16 October, with a reward of £15,000 being offered for his capture. It was suspected that a member of staff helped the convict to escape.
He was found yesterday at an address in Chigwell, Essex and was taken to a north London police station where he remains in custody.
