29 people were arrested in a number of morning raids, targeting the notorious south London GAS gang.
GAS gang, which is an acronym of Guns and Shanks, have been classed as one of the most high harm criminal networks in London, with involvement in drug dealing and serious violence including attempted murder.
12 warrants were executed in London and another 11 outside of the capital. These included two in the Thames Valley, one in Essex, one in Bedfordshire and two in Scotland.
The Wave rapper Sneakbo, has been linked to the GAS Gang in the past. Not only did he tweet support for members of the gang who were found guilty of murdering 15-year-old Zac Olumegbon, but he was also seen in a Youtube video that was broadcast on BBC3 documentary Our Crime, showing various Gas Gang members rapping about weapons and violence.
Yesterday evening Sneakbo tweeted that he was upset, adding that his strip was a mess. The 21-year-old made no mention of the arrests, but it wasn’t long before his fans speculated that he was talking about the gang.
300 rocks of crack cocaine were found as well as a large amount of heroin and £5,000 in cash.
The 29 people arrested were aged 18 to 47, and are being held on suspicion of crimes including conspiracy to supply class A drugs, money laundering, possession with intent to supply, fraud and immigration offences.
