Laura Mvula and Tinie Tempah have been confirmed as the opening acts to perform at this year’s BAFTA Awards with their new collaborative single, Heroes.
Tinie spoke of his excitement about he booking in an official statement saying:
I’m extremely excited to be opening the 2014 EE British Academy Film Awards performing Heroes with the incredible Laura Mvula.
It’s a huge honour to be performing there. This song was inspired by film scores and theme songs so I’m looking forward to showcasing what British music has to offer in front of the world’s film industry elite.
Laura also added her bit, saying:
I’m really excited to be opening the show with Tinie – especially as it’s been such an amazing year for film. It’s definitely a bit scary when I think about who will be there but we’re going to put everything into the performance and it’s a big song so it really lends itself to film.
This year’s ceremony will take place at the Royal Opera House on Sunday 16 February.
